Series: The Great Invite
Sermon: Go & Tell
Scripture: Matthew 28:16–20
REVIEW
This week we looked at the Great Commission—Jesus’ final words to His disciples before ascending into heaven. We saw how this wasn’t just a new command but the fulfillment of a mission God started in the very beginning. In Genesis, God told Adam and Eve to fill the earth with His image. After the nations were scattered at Babel, God launched a rescue mission through Abraham to bless every nation. Now, through Jesus—who has been given all authority in heaven and on earth—that mission is back in full effect.
We’re not just invited to a task; we're invited into the extraordinary story of God's redemption of the world. Jesus’ command to “Go and make disciples” is both a global vision and an everyday mission. Wherever we go, we are called to tell others about Jesus and invite them to follow Him.
We learned that the command to "GO and MAKE DISCIPLES" would have been understood as, "As you are going through life, do whatever it takes to get people to Jesus." While Jesus does call some people to foreign missions, He calls EVERYONE to be a missionary in their everyday lives.
APPLY
Jesus didn’t say the Great Commission was just for pastors, missionaries, or "super-Christians." It’s for all of us. If we are followers of Jesus, we are carriers of the invitation—to our families, workplaces, neighborhoods, and beyond.
What is ONE WAY you will go and tell someone about Jesus this week?
Will you invite them to Sunday Service?
Will you share part of your story?
Will you ask a spiritual question and start a conversation?
Take one intentional step.
PRAY
Thank God that He has always planned to reach the nations—and that you’re part of it.
Ask for courage to be bold and intentional as you live out the Great Commission.
Pray for one person by name who needs the invitation to follow Jesus.
Take a moment to ask God to open doors, give you the words, and remind you that He is with you always as you go and tell.
