Series: A Christmas Carol
Sermon: Christmas Future
Scripture: Matthew 25:14-29, Acts 1:10-11, 1 Thessalonians 4:16
REVIEW
This week, we closed our A Christmas Carol series by looking at Christmas Future. We explored how the first Christmas points us not only to the cross and resurrection but also to the promised return of Jesus—the "Second Christmas."
Using Jesus' parable of the talents, we were reminded to live with the end in mind, stewarding our lives in anticipation of the day we give an account to King Jesus. This eternal perspective transforms how we live now, helping us move beyond instant gratification and live with purpose, hope, and urgency.
We also examined how Christmas, as a forward-facing event, offers a glimpse of the glory ahead. The first Christmas in Bethlehem invites us to prepare for Christ's second coming when He will return in power and glory to establish His eternal kingdom.
Big Idea: Christmas is a glimpse of the glory still ahead.
By keeping our eyes on Jesus and His promised return, we can live with eternal purpose, bringing the hope of the Gospel into every aspect of our lives.
