Sermon: Just Past Six
Scripture: Joshua 6, Hebrews 10:35-39, Hebrews 12:1-2
REVIEW
This week, we celebrated six years of MetaChurch and reflected on the significance of perseverance and faith through challenging seasons. Using Joshua and the walls of Jericho as a foundation, we explored how the Israelites faced overwhelming odds and obeyed God's instructions, even when the path seemed unclear.
The message reminded us that "six" represents humanity, struggle, and incompletion, while "seven" signifies God's completion, perfection, and fulfillment. Just as the Israelites experienced their victory just past six, we are encouraged to trust God and keep walking, even when we feel stuck or overwhelmed.
We were challenged to run the race of faith with endurance, keeping our eyes fixed on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of our faith.
Big Idea: When life leaves you stuck on six, remember that God’s completion is just past six. Keep walking, keep trusting, and keep your eyes on Jesus—the ultimate finish line.
As long as you’re walking, you’re winning!
APPLY
What is your “six”?
Are you facing a situation that feels overwhelming, like you’re stuck on the brink of giving up?
What challenges or struggles are you tempted to walk away from?
How can you keep walking?
Are there steps of obedience you know God is calling you to take, even if you don’t see immediate results?
What practical steps can you take to stay faithful in the fight?
What walls in your life need to fall?
Are there areas where you need to trust God to bring the breakthrough instead of relying on your own strength?
How can you surrender control and trust in God’s timing?
How can you fix your eyes on Jesus?
What would living with the perspective that Jesus is your ultimate finish line look like?
How can keeping your focus on Him help you persevere through the hard seasons?
